Serre di Rapolano is a small village and everything worth seeing is close by.
The museum is inside the Grancia, the hot springs are about 5 km away, Asciano 7. So it makes sense to stay a few nights and not move your luggage every day.
The Grancia is a fortified medieval complex in the old town of Serre. The museum has the granary, the historic halls and the early 20th-century oil mill with its stone millstones.

Just outside Serre the Crete Senesi begin: clay hills, gullies, biancane, isolated farmhouses and white gravel roads.
Asciano, the nearest town, is 7 km away. The Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore is 17 km away, San Giovanni d'Asso 18. Buonconvento, one of the Borghi più belli d'Italia, is 25 km away.
Three places nearby are UNESCO World Heritage sites: the historic centre of Siena since 1995, the historic centre of Pienza, the town of Pope Pius II, since 1996 and the Val d'Orcia since 2004.
Siena is 34 km away, Pienza 39, Montepulciano 34 and Bagno Vignoni 40. Cortona, towards the Val di Chiana, is 40 km away. Leave in the morning and come back to the Grancia for the night.
Two nights are enough for the village, the museum and part of the Crete Senesi. With three or four you can add the hot springs and a day in Siena or the Val d'Orcia.
